The RFQ Process

The RFQ (Request for Quote) Process

1. Soil – Determine the soil capacity of your site

Although it may not be the norm in some areas and often overlooked by builders of conventional foundations, a soil report with penetration tests or Geotechnical reports, guarantees the design of an optimal solution. With simple soil penetration tests / DCP, our engineers can determine the capacity of the soil and optimise your foundation solution and costs. These are not tests that are proprietary Iziseko Brands, but are generic tests valid for any foundation type. Should you not be in possession of a soil test, don’t be concerned. We offer the service of doing DCP Soil Testing (Dynamic Cone Penetrometer). There are also other ways to determine soil capacity and design our solutions for you.

2. Structural loads – Present the loads of your structure

It is important for you to supply your structure loads, this includes, uplift, sheer and moment. Using your supplied structure loads with the soil capacity our engineers can specify the required Iziseko brand pile caps and piles to transfer these loads to the soil. If possible it’s important for Iziseko to be involved in the process as early as possible, as we are able to provide important advice and guidelines in the structural design phase that can save money, cut specifications and contribute to an overall lean construction result.

3. Specification – Specification of pile caps and piles

Once all required information is available our engineers select and specify the correct components for the project which includes the consideration of the required design life. Our standard design life is 50–60 years but we frequently design to 100 yr + on request. We have in house specialist corrosion knowledge, therefore we are able to design systems to withstand any environmental and soil conditions.

4. Components – Standard or custom?

In most cases we are able to resolve your foundation design with our standard components. Specific connections and adjustment systems to support your structures are largely bespoke. We have a very efficient high tech factory process and can turn around the entire design, fabrication and delivery process in very short time frames.

5. Install – Solution installed

All materials are delivered to a prepared site and installed per engineers instruction. Iziseko pile caps all have instant bearing capacity therefore you are able to proceed with construction immediately. It is often that floor systems are being installed behind our installers, completing construction in reduced time period, this is impossible with concrete and other specialist systems.
